A Travers Moi

Do you know that oppressive feeling when your emotions are so powerful it feels impossible to hide them? Or perhaps, in the middle of a crowd, a loneliness that makes you question, "Am I the only one with a heart, a soul that is crushed, day by day, to meet the needs of others?"
The intensity of emotions is perceived as a flaw: "You're too intense, unstable, emotional..." or a vulnerability that needs to be hidden at all costs.
Yet, emotions are human and natural. Expressing and sharing them is just as human and natural. That's why this mermaid, with her transparent body, doesn't look away, even though her heart is visible, her emotions accessible. Her mind is also visible, because her thoughts don't have to be hidden; they deserve to be shared.
This mermaid sets an example of proud and open communication with ourselves and our loved ones.
La Sirène et Le kelpie

Tell me, are these big and majestic clouds the remnants of a storm, or are they signs of one?
Tell me, does this mermaid emerge from the sea, on her faithful kelpie, to admire the return of fair weather, or to flee from difficult times?
Fair weather after the storm it is said...but where are we at this moment: after or before the passage of chaos?
Le lit de La Sirène

She smiles, she is happy, and she is proud, this mermaid on her bed made of gold and fiercely amassed treasures.
She has defeated man after man, to laugh and bask in the fruits of her hard work.
A skull as a memento of her victims, proof of her victories. A sword as a reminder of past battles, proof of her power.
But, though she enjoys her riches, the tail coiled around the weapon is a reminder that she will continue to fight and protect what she treasures.
Le Sommeil de la Selkie

The currents are gentle, lulling the clear water. Sleep is easy in this forest of seaweed. The selkie has fallen asleep, wrapped in her sealskin, so warm and protective against the dangers of the world.
How easy it is to feel at peace where one feels safe, and everyone deserves this happiness, which, unfortunately, must be fought to preserve.
But against the current, when fear and anxiety grip our throats, closing our eyes and thinking of the peaceful sleep of this selkie, snuggled in her skin, is only comfort and a hope.
